For Lawyers & their Firms

Until recently the area of Assistive Digital Technologies has been a fairly neglected part of the medico-legal reports developed for compensation cases.

Life-changing technology comes at a significant expense.

For the last few years this oversight has been slowly rectified as a number of law firms have started asking me to deliver Technology Needs for Life Reports including estimating costs over a lifetime.

I know what you are thinking.  Technology is developing at such a rapid rate how can anyone predict costs in 20, 30, 40 years’ time and even what will be available?

I have over 20 years’ experience working with people with a wide range of physical and cognitive disabilities and identifying the most appropriate Assistive Digital Technologies to meet their needs. I am now applying this experience and knowledge to a process that leads to very thorough reports that inform and educate those who are making decisions about the compensation funds a person realistically needs for life. My goal is realistic and informed decision making when it comes to being able to afford life-changing technology for life.

I analyse all relevant reports, and develop from them the clinical analysis and justification for the recommendations I then include in my Technology Needs for Life reports.  I often see what is lacking in these reports I analyse is detailed acknowledgement of the role of technology or the huge costs involved.
