Thanks for visiting my site. The area of Assistive Technology has become vast and with the NDIS calling a massive range of items “assistive technology” I have decided to call the area I deal with Assistive Digital Technology.

Computers, tablets, smart phones, smart wearables can all make a huge difference in the lives of people with disabilities. The methods of engagement and control vary with the needs of each person and there is a lot happening in the development of technology to enable people with disabilities to be as independent as possible.

I have been working in this field for 20 years. With the development of this new site I plan to provide a diverse range of information and insights into the work I do to visitors to my site and to both prospective and current clients. As I develop my learning portal it will offer information, guidance and an ongoing relationship with my clients as well as access to remote assistance to ensure that clients are supported beyond the initial setup period.

Too often I have seen equipment and technology handed to people with little to no training and support and finishing up in cupboards and not being utilised. Education, and developing the level of understanding to really make use of the assistive digital technology platform put in place, is crucial. I hope you come back and join me on this journey to independence.
